Don Cherry blasted him for celebrating after his goals ... Cherry is an idiot (I know he is a Canadian Institution) compared him to Sean Avery ... makes no sense.

I may be from Canada, but I worked with Cherry, and he should be institutionalized. Ovechkin is the most exciting player to come along in decades. Don has been anti-european ever since he came to the NHL, and how many Stanley Cups did he win.

Zero.

He used to be part owner of the junior hockey team in Mississauga, and they only had Canadians on the roster, and all they could do was fight. Needless to say they had the most penalties in the league.

loved the T.O. type celebration when Ovetkin scored his 50th goal ... I would hate to see it get overused like in football but the kid is making me pay attention to hockey.

I think the Capitals may only be a couple of years away from winning the Stanley Cup, and when they do I will be rooting for them even if they beat my Red Wings to do it.

That was the case in 2004 when I had been a Cardinals fan for forty years, and found myself cheering for my other team the Red Sox, and being thrilled when they finally won.
