I don't know what it is, but I've had such a hard time keeping interest in football this year. The Giants and Dolphins are my favorite teams and the Giants are playing great. When I look around the league, though, it feels like I'm looking at "Frankenstein's" version of the NFL with teams patched together with pieces of "dead teams" from the 2007 season. There are a few exceptions, but not many.

Certain players seem come out of nowhere - like some of the running backs. They rush for "thousands of yards" one season and then POOF, they're gone. What happens to these guys? Injuries? Just a "miracle season?" Are they unhappy about their contracts? Speaking of injuries, I never remember a time when so many players have their entire careers end on 1 play. Or the words - "injured and out for the season." The percentage of injuries that end a player's season have got to be way, way up.

The Detroit Lions are still in the basement, so at least there still remains a slight nostalgic air to embrace, but that's about it.
It seems that things really starting to change in the league a few years ago. It seems like the seasons come and go faster and faster, too. Whoever wins the Superbowl are the champions for about 3 months then it all starts over again. I know it's not a literal 3 months but it feels that way.

This year has been one of the more competitive years I've seen. The top teams are not at the top but are still there somewhere. The Giants and Dolphins are both playing well and a rookie QB is making a big splash. The big thing this season is the huge amount of rookie runningbacks making big plays and pushing out the old vets.

I was glad to see the Colts win the Superbowl with Tony Dungy. He's been one of the best coaches in the League for years.

The NFL made it's regular season debut in Toronto, as the Buffalo Bills hosted the Miami Dolphins before an announced crowd of 52,134, but there was actually less than 48,000 people in the building, and it has been said that more than
15,000 seats were given away prior to game time.

Buffalo takes in about 6 million dollars from there home games in a stadium which seats 73,000, but in Toronto they have been guaranteed a take of 10 million from a building that seats 54,000. One example is my season tickets for the
Argonauts cost $1,100 dollars a year, and for one NFL game my seats cost $1,050 dollars.

I'm going out on the limb, and picking the Minnesota Vikings as the longshot for the Super Bowl this year.

Colts win in a walk over San Diego. I'll say 38-13
