Post Abraham vs. Dirrell (Spoilers)
Looks like Arthur Abraham has some serious flaws. It took a boxer like Dirrell to bring them out. If Dirrell recovers completely from that punch he took after he went down from the slip (and that's a decent sized IF), he'll be an interesting match-up against Andre Ward. Ward should be able to beat Abraham on points or stop him late.

Yeah when guys get knocked cold like that they are usually punchy from then on out ... Cole did a lousy job last night, missed two clear knockdowns ... but good call on the DQ. Abraham kind of shut up after he saw the replay and then went to accusing Dirrell of faking it.

Dirrell should be 2-0 in the tourney now after getting robbed over in Manchester

One guy who comes to mind who recovered really well from an absolutely brutal knockout defeat was - Roberto Duran. Thomas Hearns really stretched him out, but amazingly enough... his chin and ability both recovered and went on.

Of course, Duran doesn't speak English, so I'll never know if what he says is making any sense or the interpreter is filling in a lot of "holes."

See the missed knockdown of Dirrell is a wash because Cole didn't call the knockdown of Abraham in the 6th or the 7th either. Dirrell hit him solidly and Abraham was going down but the bottom two ropes kept him up ... that is a knockdown every single time.

I looked to from the screen when that happened. I was wondering why nothing was ever mentioned of that again?

Yeah Cole definately missed the two knockdowns but I can see how he could call the one a trip. He was at a bad angle on that one. Abraham looked totally confused and that punch was deliberate in my opinion. He could tell Dirrell was down no matter what he says.

while i have always liked abraham i think i am now changing my mind a bit ... his attitude about the whole thing just pisses me off ... now i want ward, if that is who is fighting him in the next round, to come out and kick his ass!!!!

okay ... i will now stay out of the boxing area ... just had to put in my 2 cents worth :)

I really like Ward. He is a great young talent and an overall good guy. I'm looking forward to Froch getting his ass kicked by anybody. He thinks he whooped dirrell when I clearly thought he lost the fight. Dirrell may be the toughest challenge for Ward in this whole thing.

To hear the Brits talk now Froch destroyed Dirrell. I had Dirrell winning 8 rounds in that fight. Not to mention he was hurting Froch late in the fight.

Kessler beats him IMO unless Kessler is just totally shot. What I do know is that Abraham is going to be pissed going into round 3 and he fights Froch in round 3.

Abraham will probably destroy froch. Abraham has trouble with quick boxers it seems so Ward should do well against him. I'm not sure what Green brings to this tourney but man it would suck to get in there with Ward in the first fight.
