Re: My son's college football experience
Mixed news here ... football is going well but Nate has pretty much decided to join the ROTC .... which will pay for his school but he also has to make a 4 year commitment to the military. I'm torn on this ... as an American I am proud of him but as a dad it sucks.
He hopes they let him go on to law school first and then practice in the military ... we have a friend of the family who did this. He ended up staying in the military and is a JAG officer.

Thats great. My brother just got back from Iraq, he is a Marine. I don't believe there is a greater honor than to serve your Country. Had I not been born with a birth defect I'd be in the military now.

I feel ya, I'd be proud if one of my girls wants to go. My wife on the other hand would be where you are right now.

Thats what I was talking about, worried. I'm sure I would have mixed emotions at the time if it were my kids. Ofcourse, Nate could just get into officer school and never have to serve any real time in the field.

I'm not sure I like it looking at it here. I would need to see it on someone to see how it all comes together but I do like their colors.

That is just one of the possibilities ... they are also talking about gold with white pants or sticking with all black

I actually like those uniforms, nice scheme! When does spring ball start?
I feel you on Nate joining ROTC, Tony goes to a mobile unti in June, which means they can be sent anywhere on security detail, not comforting. Like you though I am very proud and we are both lucky we have sons with strong convictions being willing to defend our freedoms.
