 Knowing - with Nicolas Cage
I just saw the movie "Knowing" with Nicolas Cage. It was about 2 hours long. To be honest, it surprised me here and there. I liked it, myself. I looked up the ratings afterward and people seem to either loved it or hated it. The movie surprised me in a few places with events I never saw coming (and no... I was drinking while watching it).
When the movie first started, I thought - I've seen this story X-Amount of times before. But then, it would change a little. Then, I'd think the same thing again 20 minutes later... but then, it would change again.
Not too bad!

Funny Kelly and I just got done watching it also ... even sober I might add ... definitely not the direction I expected it to go. They did a good job of hiding it in the previews

The last movie I saw him in, he was a hitman over in Asia somewhere. That movie had such a "positive tone" - I found myself reaching for the shot glass several times after it was over!

Bangkok Dangerous? I haven't seen that one because it got horrible reviews but his movies tend to get bad reviews and I still like them so eventually I will see that one.
I liked the one where he knew what was going to happen like a second before it happened ....

That's it, Bangkok Dangerous. I liked it because I like Action movies, and that's what this was. I was never what you'd call a Nicholas Cage fan, but I'm really starting to like his stuff. It's entertaining. When he was in Ghost Rider, I thought he did a good job. I used to read that comic book back in the 70's.
The one where he could see a few minutes into the future, I thought that was a good movie, too.
The critics need to draw the line between great storytelling and entertainment. Great story telling is like visiting the Hall of the Presidents in Disney World. Entertainment is riding the Kumba and Bush Gardens. I like a mixture of both. The thing is, certain people like him command a high price tag. So the movie has to make a lot of money or it goes into the "flop" category if the bottom line isn't a certain amount.
